Chapter 14

I’ve Been Real From The Beginning

“What up doe? Say word? I’m booking my flight as we speak. Aight, bet.”

Kash and I were sitting in his office having a discussion about last night and a few other things, mainly how Nettie was still trying to drain our pockets. I assumed the phone call he had just got had us heading to PR until he said Chicago.

“Chicago? The fuck is up there nigga?”

“Nigga, I can’t even speak on it. This some shit you gonna have to see for yourself. The flight leaves out of Palm Beach International at 2:45. go get ya’ shit packed,” he said with a huge grin on his face.

“Man, fuck packing. I’ll shop when I get there. You ain’t gonna let me know what the play is though?” He shook his head no and laughed.

“Fuck you then, nigga. Don’t tell me.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t.” His ass was still laughing. He was being typical Kash, old hush mouth ass nigga.

“Seriously, babe? How you let me oversleep like that? Who took the kids to school?” Nic asked as she sat down in the chair next to mine.

“If you didn’t take them, how else do you think they got there? What I don’t understand is how you hired a fuckin nanny that don’t drive.”

“Her driving capabilities were not a priority to me. You’re a smart nigga. You know why I hired Olga,” she giggled.

I rubbed the back of my neck. “Shit, if you don’t know why, I damn sure do. She’s pushing what? Like sixty-five? She’s a sweetheart but she’s hard on the eyes. A nigga’s dick wouldn’t get hard if his life depended on it!” I laughed at how slick Nic thought she was being.

They continued talking but I stopped listening. Hearing them go back and forth made me think about Sharri and how I had been acting towards her. I was fucking up on the home front big time. She was the closest person to me and I’ve been treating her like shit.

She probably swore up and down I was creeping with the next bitch. That wasn’t the case. Pussy was the furthest thing on my mind. They say you lose all your friends when you finally start winning. The only problem with that statement is that I’ve been winning. I was surrounded by death and wondering if my time was next.

I’ve been spending my days and nights looking for that nigga Nyce. I wanted to get him before he got me. He hadn’t even tried to get in contact with Nic. He and Trixie have been MIA since the night of the murder. He probably was mourning the loss of his brother while I was plotting on him. They would be seeing each other in the afterlife real soon.

My uncle Carlito took my mom & granny back to SC with him. Before he left, we had a long man-to-man talk. He gave me sixty days to find Nyce and Trixie and take them both out. If I couldn’t handle it in that timeframe, he was calling in his troops and wiping out whole families.
